As for the vintage thing, people everywhere will argue/share their opinions on the subject. It's not specific to that forum.
I'm sure there are people on every forum that believe vintage guitars are overrated and others that believe they're worth every penny.

It was worth a try having a look at this thread, but I don't like it. It makes searching for things extra tedious. I like the plane old members classified. I can scroll down and look at what everyone is offering.

I'm selling my 2006 Les Paul Standard. It's Chilli Pepper Red ( don't see that color very often), with a 60's neck, and Burstbucker Pro's.

It's not mint but I'd have to say it's in excellent condition.

Les Paul Replica For Sale
$2500 USD including shipping, fully insured. I am selling my 59' Les Paul Replica. Browsing on ebay I put in a lowball offer on my dream guitar, fully expecting him to laugh at me, but he came back with a pretty doable offer. So, I have 48 hours to sell the Replica before the offer expires, I am offering the guitar at a steal of a price, I just need enough to buy the other one. As most of you guys are aware, the Replica's are in another league to the Historics, this one is no exception. BCR Greg himself did the neck on this, it plays like butter.
Here are the specs:

Old Growth Honduran Mahogany Body/neck
Eastern Maple Flamed Top
Old Growth Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard(beautiful straight as arrow/dark grain)
Nitro finish
Hide Glue construction
Long Neck Tenon
CTS 500K pots
Sprague Vitamin Q caps
WCR Darkburst pickups
No Serial Number on back of headstock.

Guitar is made from the finest wood, which is where the tone starts, weighs in at a super comfortable 8lbs. The neck is perfect, and the action is tight with no buzzing or issues at all. It has incredible sustain, just listen to the black dog clip. It has some wear that can be expected from a 15 year old guitar, but is still stunning, especially the sound.
