1958 Korina flying V Replica brazilian, featherweight!
This Korina V was made for a famous 'Burst collector to match his genuine 1958 Gibson Korina Flying V. All measurements and neck shape were taken right off the original using Scottish curves and micrometers. I ended up getting this one from him.
This one is a Feather coming in at 6lbs. 0ozs. Beautiful dark chocolate Brazilian board with 6105 frets. The neck shape is perfect "C" shape that fits right in the palm. Accurate vintage deep neck tenon. lightly aged with some checking on the headstock, rivet wear, and aged gold hardware including custom made thin "V" tailpiece. There's even a 1960's Gibson gold switch nut just for fun... yes I'm aware the gold knobs aren't correct, but I like 'em. I will include a genuine 1950's "Gibson" logo for free that is what was used on the Skylarks and V's. NOS pots and Seymour Duncan Custom Shop aged PAFS wound by MJ to be clones of a killer set of "Double Whites" give this guitar a huge flutey Woman tone in the neck position and an almost strat like bell tone with the volume rolled back. The bridge gives up a tough mid-range crunch that's articulate with a bit of LP junior punch. I've only seen one other of these for sale in the last 6 years (there were around 5 made) and it was early this year/late last year. The asking price from a dealer on Gbase was $6,500.... this one is $5,900. The equivalent of a Max in accuracy I have a set of Max "NOS PAF" pickups that can be purchased as well for this beauty. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: 1958 Korina flying V Replica brazilian, featherweight!
These are the pickups that (as the story goes) were built from NOS PAF parts. I've been using this set since I pulled them from my MAX 'Burst in 1996, great pickups! These are reverse Zebra. I don't think they are actually NOS parts, but incredible repro on par with the OTP stuff. I'll post pics later when I have a moment. If the new owner doesn't want 'em they'll be for sale here... you can have first dibs.
