'88 Marshall 2555 Jubilee (black) - $1649 shipped

I've seen plenty of "Slash talk" over here in my lurking and reading, so I figured someone might be interested in this. I have it up on eBay here, but would gladly end the auction for a forumite (and sell it to you cheaper, ha!).

Here's a brief description:

Just back from the tech's shop with a clean bill of health. In many peoples' opinions, this is "THE" Marshall head...and it is definitely a nice-sounding amp with plenty of guts. It went in for servicing after one of the tubes red-plated. My tech did plenty of diagnostic work that the previous owner probably hadn't - the half power switch's values had drifted and were causing problems...wasn't an easy problem to spot at all. The switch was swapped for a good one, a quad of Groove Tubes EL34Ms were installed and biased, and now she's singing again. I'd like $1649 and that includes shipping and Paypal. One just sold on eBay for $1825 a few days ago.

The bottom dollar can be a single so long as the dollars on top of it total out to $1648.

I'm happy to listen to offers, but I think $1649 with shipping and Paypal included is pretty screamin'. Pay with a different payment form (Paypal e-check, money order, cashier's check) and I can knock it down a little for sure.

Thanks! I can't wait to play it. I'm just wondering if it can replace my DSL50 for cleans so I can sell it or if I should keep the DSL for the cleans.

Aha! I was just coming here to post, "Sold!" I don't have a good answer on the cleans because I never really used it for the cleans - the reputation of the amp is that they are passable. Anyway, give me a day or two to get it packed up to "bulletproof" and I'll get it on its way to you.
