Max Bigsby Update!
Well there’s good news and bad news… depending on how you want to look at it. The buzzards have picked most of the vintage parts off (as evidenced by these pictures) leaving only the vintage nut, truss rod cover, Bigsby, and of course… THE WOOD!!!!!!!!!!!
Still available THE ONLY MAX BIGSBY!!!!!!!!!! Most of the vintage parts are gone, but that means the BEST PART, the part you can’t get anywhere else (BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY ONE) just got a lot more affordable! Somebody say $15,000. |

Hey, are you calling me a buzzard!
I have seen this guitar in person and looked it over very well and it is stunning! Beautiful in every way.

Re: Max Bigsby Update!
I did feel the neck on it and it is a little more on the slim side from what I remember. The taper from the fret board to the neck is beautiful and has that feel that just melts in your hand. I bet he measures it and puts up the specs. If you are looking for a Max this one will not disappoint you.

Re: Max Bigsby Update!
More perfect than you know! It has a 1960 serial number and is fashioned after a REAL Bigsby of that same year. I have a Custom Shop Cat 5 with a 1960 slim taper neck and the Max is not as thin as that. On the other hand it is not as thick as the neck on my 1959 ES-335 either. Rather falls in the Goldilocks’ category of, “this one is just right…”

Re: Max Bigsby Update!
Sorry for the delay, but I had to get a caliper in order to do this right. So… measuring from the top of the fret to the back of the neck (dead center) at the first fret is 7/8ths inch. By the 12th fret it has tapered up to 1 inch even. Hope that helps.
