Think we need pictures and an idea of a price, too...and where you are located in the world.

Let me try and help....

You are kind of doing this backwards. You say you are trying to gauge interest in your guitar before taking it further. What everyone is trying to tell you is, there will be much more interest if you at least provide pictures of what we are supposed to be intersted in.

I could tell you have a badass Porsche that they only made 10 of ( I don't) and it is the coolest thing in the world. How interested are you? Now if I post pictures of it with the tires smoking in one photo, and a hot chick laying across the hood in a bikini in another, my post would be extremely interesting.

It's just advertising 101. As the seller, it is your job to generate interest, not our job to contact you to possibly be interested. People will help you figure out how to get pics posted, just ask. I think then, you will have much more interest in your guitar. GLWS.

at least there is pics of that one - plus, not to excuse the practice, but that is a little more of a unique, one-off type of thing than an AFD...

heck, its practically like a Max

Agreed. Just upload the pics to some online gallery or something like hotmail's skydrive and then copy and paste the links into the thread. It really is quite easy.

You don't have to put a price on it, but surely you have some idea.

I agree you'll get more interest if you do the two things above.

I agree with you guys that it is better to have price listed but I don't agree that sellers should be harassed when they don't do it. If you are really interested then PM him. When I see ads like this, I usually just ignore it and move on unless I am really interested then I ask the seller.

jhun , You do understand that this is Alex´s forum ? so he really can do what he likes . No disrespect to you . But the owners of almost anything get to do what they like with their stuff .

Disclaimer to all , Yes i bought the guitar . So that´s were I´m coming from . Alex has always been a great guy to deal with for any aspect of this forum, as well as other things. So maybe cut him a brake .

Hi Jamman, yes I do understand that and that is why I don't act like I own this place. Meaning, I do not tell people what they can and can't do. Sometimes some just need a little advice coz they don't know better. Cheers.

BTW, I may sell my Stinger R9 if you are interested. It's the one featured in the brochure.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Agreed. I didn't intend to harass anyone, if you mean me, though. Just some uncalled for advice from my end, at worst.

Re: FS Slash AFD Custom Les Paul

Jesus! Wish i hadnt bothered! For those criticizing about lack of advertising, you all know what the custom afd is, and looks like so if you must see a pic then go on google, yes i apreceate any serious buyers would want to see pictures and that of course is ok and i will send pics to anyone requesting these pics. As for price, why is it so important? for something this rare price will obviously fluctuate under rules of supply/demand and how much someone wants it. I know how much i want for it so make an offer and i will politley accept or decline. So if you are interested then i would like to hear from you. If not and you are just posting to critique my method of selling then please do not bother and find something more useful to do with your time.

Not to be rude, but people want to see pics of the actual guitar you are selling. When people shop for used cars, they don't google a car that they are interested in looking at. And people who sell used cars should know better than to post a new pic for a used car. Same with selling guitars. Of course they know what it looks like, but they want to see the condition that yours is in.

And for price, if you know what you want, then list the price. If it is too high for people, then they will move on. If they are happy with the price, then you just sold a guitar. I guess it isn't absolutely necessary, but will help greatly.

While some may act like thread police sometimes, they are just trying to help you sell your guitar.

OP , I've been corrected about how posting should be done here and imo your thread is fine . There is nothing in the rules that covers stating you must state a price or post pictures .
Good luck with your sale .

The correct info about the (my)guitar is that it is an MM RO (12) for the 2003 run of Stingers Gibson did . It is not a 1-off of anything like a Max . Max guitars from what I understand, are far closer to the real Original LP's than any thing Gibson was making at the time . she is a great looking and playing guitar just the same . She is not for sale .

For the most part, everyone here is trying to lead a horse to water, not shoot it. What I was saying is, you will get more interest with pics. It's that simple. End of story. But, feel free to do it your way, and good luck.

Actually, most of the people who complain about lack of pictures or price are more like window shoppers who have no intentions of making a purchase. If a seller has something I really wanted, I would just email them and ask my questions, not whine about their lack of info in the thread.

the max comment wasnt about the guitar just having some fun with jhun who brought up the brazzy.

i was only pointing out that brazzy's are extremely subject to the whims of the individual (ie a particular individual may be willing to pay a lot more thank market for one), like a Max or aged/signed,. etc.

afd's tend to have larger volumes being sold and thus more market pricing.

good luck with the afd sale!

I know what you meant. Even dealers do it. They don't put up the prices for their high end guitars. You have to call.

Even I get annoyed when I go shop and there's no price tag on the item. If I really like it then I go find a salesman but if not then I just go on my merry way. I apply the same principle when I buy things online. In my experience though, if you have to ask then get ready for a high price tag.

Since you asked, the only reason why you posted a description of a guitar is because you want money. Yet, you fail to list any amount. It strikes many people as odd. Same for failure to post pictures.

Whether I'm buying a house, a car, or a guitar, if the owner doesn't list a price I won't even bother to contact the seller. To me it shouts that the seller is not serious; the seller is too embarrassed by his asking price; or the seller simply wants way too much money. So I just move on to the next one, which is precisely what I did after reading your FS post.

Good luck.
