Re: 1957 Les Paul Special (refin) - $3,000 or best offer
Dead market bump.
I might have to part this one out. I figure the husk alone is worth $1,500+, then parting out the pickups, pots, knobs, pickguard, tailpiece with studs, etc.... I think I can get $3,000 or so (or at least close to it) in pieces. |

Re: 1957 Les Paul Special (refin) - $3,000 or best offer
Any idea if the original finish is under there or was it taken down and re-finned?

I am not sure if the original finish is under there, I just really don't know - but I do see the original TV yellow in the control cavities.

Considering some trade offers. Thanks again to everyone.
$1,800 buys the husk. I will consider offers on the parts as well. |

Oh my Lord. That was an even better deal than when I bought my project '57 from you (a big thanks again BTW). You are great to deal with.
Someone got lucky, and is going to be really happy. Vintage Specials kick ass.

Re: 1957 Les Paul Special (refin) - $3,000 or best offer
I am a little worried since I haven't heard from the buyer since yesterday, and he was supposed to paypal me last night. I will keep everyone updated if something changes. Thanks again!

I liked the gold--who cares that its not original--you would have had a one of a kind--

I'd be really surprised if the buyer doesn't come through at that price, but let us know.

Hi guys - I sent him an email letting him know he's got til the end of today. I will let you know. But now I've got the opposite problem than I had before - like 5 interested buyers LOL. We'll give it til tomorrow and take it from there. Thanks again for your interest!

Re: 1957 Les Paul Special (refin) - $3,000 or best offer
Sorry everyone for taking so long to get back. I had several PMs. The original buyer was a no-show after giving him his time extension. Since I have had quite a few people offering to buy, I think the only fair (and smart) way to do it is to open it up for higher offers than $2,100. I don't really know how else to handle it best. Not trying to play games whatsoever. I would have let it go at $2,100 but now I realize that probably wasn't the best offer out there. I will say that $2,700 paypaled would buy it outright, and I will even cover shipping in the US. Thanks everyone for their patience!

Re: 1957 Les Paul Special (refin) - $3,000 or best offer
Well, after considering some offers, I decided I am going to take the guitar to the Philly show and try my luck there in a couple weeks. When I first started the thread, I had my eye on some parts I was hoping to buy with the proceeds, but those are gone by now anyway. So, no real sense of urgency anymore. Thanks to everyone for their offers - I really appreciate it

Re: 1957 Les Paul Special (refin) - $3,000 or best offer
I think that's a smart move on your part.
That guy that never followed through on the $2100 deal is an idiot. And I'll bet kicks himself for years.
