Bad Cat Mini Cat Head
Thinking about selling this bad cat mini cat head, gotta be heard to be believed... I cant recall exactly the year, but I know I bought this right when BadCat started up. Maybe it was around 1999 or 2000. Only been used professionally in the recording studio I managed, barring two small tears in the leather, the amp is in beautiful condition.

The circuit is a 12ax7 feeding a single ended el84, maybe you can get 5 watts out of it. I have only used this amp to drive 4x12 cabinets, if you dont have experience with single ended amps, dont let the single digit wattage fool you, this sucker is loud. Loudness is logarithmic...

The amp has a volume, bass and treble tone stack and a master volume. The greatest feature IMO on this amp is that the speaker jack is a shorting jack and there is a load resistor mounted inside, so you DO NOT need to run this amp hooked up to a speaker, at all. there is a headphone out on an 1/'8" jack and a line out. This makes an absurdly useful practice amp if you use headphones and for recording, the line out is worth its weight in gold, used to run drums through this guy all the time...

The tone is bombastic, very vox-ish, ultra grindy distortion that only an el84 in your face can do. I didnt have time to drop the chasis to take a photo, but the build quality is second to none, its 100% point to point, the components are not on tag board. I aspire to make amps that look as pretty as this one does inside.

Ive never ever seen another one of these, either in person or for sale, I hate using the word "rare" in an ad but these heads are not entirely too common. Would like to see $850 for this guy, however Im open to *realistic* discussion on the price.

Amp is located in NYC, welcome to pick it up or am happy to ship to you. Its not very large and not very heavy so shouldnt be prohibitively expensive to ship just about anywhere.

It would be shipping from NYC in a box weighing likely around 15 lbs ish, so however you'd like it shipped up there is up to you. Obviously I'll get the thing on a scale for the exact price when the time comes.
