Gibson Super Goldtone combo amp - 60 watts, mint

i'm putting my beloved Gibson GA-60rv combo amp up for sale.... not because i don't love it, but because it's taking up too much space. i already have an orange cab with a pair of 12" celestion vintage 30's, which is the same speakers in the gibson... so i'd rather buy a super goldtone head, and save some space (i have my gear in a small bedroom, so real estate is valuable lol).

i'm looking for $1200, which is what a super goldtone head is going to cost me. if anyone has a head already (in mint or near-mint condition) and would be willing to make a straight trade, let me know.

it's in mint, mint condition. no tolex wear or scuffs of any kind - and i drove over 6 hours to pick this beauty up from a music store if that tells you how much i love goldtones! i made a base with rolling casters so it will be easier to push around - this sucker is heavy, at almost 100 pounds. it also comes with the stock 2 button footswitch (unused, still NIP) and a custom cover i had made for it.

this is hands-down one of the best amps i've ever heard....channel 1 has the most beautiful cleans, and channel 2 can get really dirty. not metal dirty - think old aerosmith (in fact joe perry has a few of these). plenty of controls and knobs to keep a tweaker happy, and the tone is unbelievable no matter what the setting. it also has a line out with separate volume control. everything is original, and has low playing time.... 60 watts was/is just too much for a small space.

because of the weight, this will be a local sale only. unless someone wants to dish out the ~$100 to ship it (i'd have to get a quote from UPS before the sale, to be sure). i'm located in the metro detroit area. or, i'd be willing to drive within a 3 hour radius to meet someone (people from chicago, cincinatti, pittsburgh, etc.)

as for shipping, let me know what your zip code is and i'll call UPS with measurements and weight. i'll have them give me a price for ground, and that exact same price is what you'll pay. to be on the safe side, i'll pay UPS to box and package it - that way they can guarantee it gets to you safely (that's how the guy i bought the super goldtone head did it, and i've gotta say - it was a lot of packing peanuts, but for a ~60 lb. box, there wasn't any damage at all).

i have the exact same head unit greg has for sale - but mine is in the much more common (and more recent) black tolex. his is the uber-hard to find brown, which are some of the first ones made for gibson by trace elliot.

i can personally vouch for the same sound as my combo - except you have the versatility of plugging it into a 2x12 or 4x12 cab. FANTASTIC head unit... same quality as the combos.

bear, sorry man. cash only. i have another head that i put a deposit on, and have to pay the rest off when it comes in. it's the marshall afd100. i appreciate it, though.
