Re: How to silkscreen a guitar headstock- Les Paul style!
What # mesh are you using?
I really enjoy silk screening but finding the right # mesh for the metallics to get through is tricky. Do you have a metallic ink/paint you'd recommend? btw I found 2 buisness cards bent in half for shims works great too. It puts a little bit of upward spring into the screen to help it pull cleanly off the thicker paints.

Instead of cardboard for a squegee, what about an old credit-type plastic card or a peice of palstic cut from a plastic jug?
OR maybe a small plastic plaster "trowel" from Home Depot/Lowes?

Tom recommended using Charbonnel etching ink. its about $12 here in the USA. I have a few links where to get it. As far a what to use for the squeege, i guess anything semi stiff would work. I only used cardboard because I left the rest of the stuff I had for the project at home. I would prefer to use a rubber squeege as it get a cleaner deposit on the substrate. |

If you wouldn't mind pm'ing me those links that would be fantastic. The stuff we used was REALLY thick.
