Re: Carved Top?
Take some time and use the search engine. Look in the many build threads.
Like many of us here, we did a lot of research and lurked for quite a while before starting.

Re: Carved Top?
I'm building a guitar in resistant materials (woodwork/metalwork/plastic/electronics) as a project for an exam but then we get to bring them home =]

Re: Carved Top?
Seriously, look through some of the build threads. Especially Ex-Nihilo's. It is all there. You will be much more educated by seeing the process, than being told. You will also stumble across information that you can bookmark for reference later. You will find answers to questions you don't even know you need to ask yet.

That might be a challenge if you've never done one........ Anything is possible. It looks like it would be a pita to bind.........If you have to do a carve top, I think I would do the traditional Les Paul design my first time out.
