Re: What's on YOUR workbench right now?
Thanks Doug! I really have appreciated your support and insight. I also want to thank Freddy, who told me what constitutes the tobacco burst. Way easier than I ever would have guessed. This is a great, great board; never take it for granted!

Re: What's on YOUR workbench right now?
Bit of an update preview of where these "f" holes I was working on sit in the scheme of things.... there's not much more to do before I can start finishing, but, I've been a bit side tracked with one of Ken's 335 kits....don't know if I'm going Blonde or a deep Cherry yet....got to decide soon!

Re: What's on YOUR workbench right now?
Doug that is nice! You are pretty far along with the ES 335. That looks blondworthy for sure. But cherry is nice too. Hummm...
Sully that is beautiful. Nice work there Shad. Wish I had a motorcycle with a seat like that.

Re: What's on YOUR workbench right now?
Did the striping today had to touch up the big yellow flame on the right as for some reason it transferred to my wrist

Re: What's on YOUR workbench right now?
No it is just a refinish (Ibanez artcore) It was really a pain to remove the old finish....

Re: What's on YOUR workbench right now?
I'm again busy with one of Ken's kits, this one is going to be an ES-355 replica.
![]() ![]() Body is ready for binding and pickup cavities. And this one is essentially complete: a 56 Burst. It "only" needs finishing.

Re: What's on YOUR workbench right now?
Not a guitar, but part of one...and way below the standard of other builders on here, but I thought I'd share anyway...
![]() ...and done (with protective plastic still on the cover). ![]() My dodgy guide (made from a wire hanger, some rubber offcuts and a couple of washers superglued to the front of the rubber to provide a metal face) made the winding much easier. My first ever P-90! Somewhere above 10,000 winds with AWG 42, and it measures 10.5k.

Actually, this one is promised to a friend across the sea...although I will do some more soon. I'll do a pair of cream soapbars to try to motivate myself into making a goldtop in the future, as well as another dogear for my own LP Junior-type build and another pair of tele single-coils for the one I'm supposedly building. I'll also be winding about three or four pairs of humbuckers soon. I'd better get started on making some baseplates...
