I have an 80's Greco with a similar colour binding, leave well enough alone.I don't mean to do less than your best but colour is such a personal thing.I love it the way it is.

Thanks!
Well, I see you mentioned girls, "plural". I only have 1 so it makes it easier, not to mention cheaper on me. Despite the hickups i've had on this build, it has been fun. Can't wait to see the look on her face when she gets it.

We need a banjo build thread!

The binding colour matches that of my Edwards, I don't think it's bad at all. And if she'll play it for years and years to come some of that ambered lacquer will eventually wear off anyway.
Thanks for your input the kind words.

You are right on the color being personal. I have to remember that it's for her so if she likes it that's all that counts.

Thanks for the good point.

Looks awesome, she is going to freak out man. I think you're just weirded out by the colour because it's different, I'm sure she will love it.

That's gonna be one lucky little lady.
You have to have the cam ready to take pics when she see's it.

Re: "camille" small build

Here are some update photo's.

As Pinefd warned earlier about the switch being too tall, I forgot to check until final assembly It was too tall. Luckily I had a switch laying around for a gibson sg and it luckily, since I chambered the body, it fit like it was designed for it. Whew.

Then a "quick" shot of the control cavity. Look quickly though, it's a little on the sloppy side. Everything works great and no noise. Maybe I'll clean it up in the future. Also, I let the extra router marks go that are on the cover route. I wished I would have cleaned that up now.

the cable route worked perfectly with the p-90 cavities. One thing I was worried about.
and again ignore the date I didn't catch the 08 until after the clearcoats. I don't know what to say..........

Some random pics after I drilled for the bridge and roughed out a nut.

Re: "camille" small build

done!!!!!!!

I played it through my jtm45/fullstack and it was amazing. It played exactly
the same as my full size build. I was under the impression that it would..... I don't know,..... play smaller? It roared. Loved the pickups, I need to get somebody over to play and get some clips posted.

I am actually extremely pleased how well this one turned out. The binding color I was worried about earlier I now acutally like. It seems like it fits it. I was worried since the pickguard, pickups and poker chip were cream that it wouldn't look right.

I have a few drop fills I need to do in a couple of places but they aren't very noticeable and will tend to them down the road.

These are some quickie shots since we are having dreary weather right now. I will get some good ones as soon as I can.

still waiting on a tr cover.....

I can't wait till this weekend (birthday) Man I cut this close.

I'll post some b-day picks also....

What a great guitar!

Although this is refered to as a "small build" I am sure the memories from this birthday will be huge for both of you.

I too will wait to see the picture of the presentation.

Thanks for sharing the build and the information offered of the process.

Happy Birthday Cami and many more!

I know we only see the end result of each step and the final product but I can't believe how fast you built this. That guitar is incredible.

Re: "camille" small build

Thanks for the kind words everybody!! I am really happy the way it turned
out. Usually there is something that always bugs me about anything I build, but I feel good about this one. Maybe it's because I made the deadline.

I'll post "Poser" shots when I get them. Hopefully I can get some good ones of her getting it this Sat. the 17th

Peace

What a fantastic thread and guitar... the mini humbuckers are perfectly proportioned. Beautiful work all around... I love it.
