On the bench, 6/7/09

This one should be a challenge....

Re: On the bench, 6/7/09

I am the owner, now.

I just finished a 53 Goldtop yesterday and was moaning that I don't have a Goldtop.

VOILA!

Now I have to moan that I am not sleeping with Jennifer Anniston.

Re: On the bench, 6/7/09

How would u fill those chips in if u wanted 2? Would you glue small bits of wood in with a combination of glue and plaster and then sand the whole top, and repaint it?

Looks like the result of a particularly nasty divorce/breakup. Bad for dude, good for Greg. I bet you got a hell of a deal on that. May the force be with you on this repair!

Nice. I'm glad to hear that you're not refinishing the body - I was thinking about that until I got to your post.

I can't wait to see it when its all done!

Re: On the bench, 6/7/09

that poor thing... that's a pure case of child, er guitar abuse. I think they need to be reported to the authorities, glad you were there to intervene and salvage her!
I would keep the paint too, makes for a nice story.

Re: On the bench, 6/7/09

I think a bunch of Fender psycho's are doing this and sending them to Greg because they know he will post them here, only they can't win. The breaks will get successively worse and Greg will just fix them until they give up or run out of Gibbies.

Looks like an '02 in this pic. Still super cool though.

Is it a bear getting the two raw ends to fit back together tightly? I can just imagine that being a pain.
