Thanks Fatdaddypreacher, I really appreciate your feedback... we all spend so may hours alone in our basement or workshop, and when it's time to show our work, it's really cool to have such a nice comment... kind of payday...

Difficult to post amongst all these beautiful builds - but what the hell, here is my second build, body made from a 250 year old door casing

don't see the difficulty in that. that's a nice guitar, dude...and nice job on the salvage lumber. that thing had class before it was a guitar.

I've been piddling with this for a while. 24.9 scale, 16" board radius, medium frets, seems like I had to do everything twice.

Re: post guitars you built

This one just came back in for some Strings and set up. But is one I built back before I had a Digital camera.
this bass is 20+ years old and was built to customer specs. and yes its weighs like it looks. which I warned the customer about.. but hey, the customer is ALWAYS right.

Enjoy it!

Even more Tele.. Finished this one Sunday morning

This is what happens when Ken Parker fans start making Teles

I'm sure Leo would not mind so much - it uses less wood.

Re: post guitars you built

Here is one I did when a customer realized he didn't know how to make a body. He brought me the necks and hardware. Had to make the body and pickguard. He uses two tunings in one song and hated hunching over a gracie stand.
That is me holding it before I quit smoking and put on 50 lbs. :P
Still having trouble with photobucket. Anyone else having issues?

Re: post guitars you built

Number 12. The body is tulip poplar finished with walnut Watco danish oil, then finished in 100% beeswax, used the hairdryer method again.....the neck is also beeswax.

It's a nice DIY finish because it can be easily touched up, you can't really make "a mistake" with it....

At <$2 bd. foot locally, the poplar was just a tad bit cheaper than exotic woods, it came out a little splotchy but overall not too bad for a dark, natural finish.

This was one of the first tele bodies I cut several years ago, goofed up the depth of the inset (2 3/4" instead of 3") so I used the opportunity to round off the heel and use a non-standard neck plate......
