Gibson's ruling on the wood incident

USDOJ: Gibson Guitar Corp. Agrees to Resolve Investigation into Lacey Act Violations

Didn't know if you all saw this yet. Interesting read. Apparently they knew better but still bought wood illegally anyway. Tisk, tisk...

i find it interesting that the US government is getting the 300,000. and the money to used for conservation purposes is only the 50,000..

IMHO, those figures should be reversed, or at least equal

also find the last paragraph of that press release rather interesting. wonder how much time elapsed between the time the tress were harvested, and the time they were actually shipped as fingerboard blanks. and if these blanks were already inside the USA prior to Gibson placing their order ?
