Re: SG Swiss Guitar
Ahh thank you!
Just thought these bevels look awesome and the guitar is very clean and simple. A closer look on the other pictures proves my first impression! Very cool job. Also really like the long tenon and the TR access on the body side. Kudos! ![]() Sometimes I wonder how much I'll smooth out the edges on my build in the finish sanding process. Your hard contours look really nice, but softer edges are a better playing comfort. Probably I'll leave to edge to the top quite hard to define the bevels and sand a small radius to the edges on the sides for comfort. Thanks for posting these!

Re: SG Swiss Guitar
Beautiful, as one would expect from a builder of your skill.
![]() ![]() ![]() I have to ask - did you make the knobs or buy them? The reason I ask is because I'm curious about whether the inside of hardwood knobs needs to be bushed and, if it does, how do people find something that has the correct internal fluting? |

Re: SG Swiss Guitar
Again, the concept is brilliant!
The jack, the "color", the simplicity, knobs, bridge ... a joy to look at! Also the semi neck through is fantastic. Prefer straplocks though.

I've never been a big SG fan, but this one is making me rethink that viewpoint. I think that it must be the minimalist approach that you took. It is so clean/un-busy. Noticed that you said semi-through neck. I see the neck tenon appears to go all the way to the pickup. Does that extend through to the back? Got any pics of the back?

Re: SG Swiss Guitar
Thank you all for your kind comments!
@Barnaby I used the ebony dome knobs from StewMac STEWMAC.COM : Details about Ebony Dome Knob If you wanted to make your own you should probably use some sort of (brass) insert that fits your pot shafts. I don't think that hardwood is strong enough. And you could also install a set screw into the metal insert. @Knarbens I like the bevels on your guitar too. Very SG-ish . If I'd make another SG I'd consider rounding the hard-edges a little more. Only the 90° angled edges. I would not round any of the edges of the bevels. I like the look of the clear lines and they are comfortable to me.@BBBBill The neck tenon does not go through to the back. It's really only an extended neck tenon. I just wanted the neck to body joint to be as rigid as possible and to avoid the usual achilles heel of the normal SGs. Here's the pics of the back and the neck joint before glueing: |

Re: SG Swiss Guitar
Hey Romaen! I cut my pickguard this morning. After testplacing the plastics on the top I at first took away the pickguard and got reminded of this/your great guitar! I had to a stop a minute and think about whether I should leave the pickguard off the top, but my control placement was designed to have the pickguard
Just thought I let you know ...
