Making of 61' Reissue SG Plans [Project]

i've recently read this thread

if i can get pics and measurements i can make a top-down plan

in the pics guitar must be on a straight plane (must not be tilted)

measurements should be like diameter of all the holes (including jack, volumes, tones and the switch) cavity meas. a top-down neck measurement like the lenght height
radius of fretboard and the back of the neck headstock meas. diameters of tuner holes ant he hardest part, truss rod meas.

Started off with the pic on the gibson site

progress

and here's the pickguard that i found from everything sg

some more progress

body finished just fixing and measuring remaining

as i described i need a lot of pics diameters and measurements please contribute to the project if you want to help people

here's the PSD so far

Re: Making of 61' Reissue SG Plans [Project]

didn't know you've read it sorry :P i just want people to see

also here's the PSD so far

https://rapidshare.com/files/3912568...0768629060.psd

and according to your reply on the other thread a reissue is way different from the early 60s SG
so were just able to make the reissue's plans right

and there isn't much free and accurate plans on the internet.

The link to the PSD doesn't work.

Have you managed to get neck joint details (neck angle, thickness/length of tenon, shelf (where the tenon cover goes) length)

The OP hasn't posted on this forum in 6 months; so I suggest if you want to communicate with him, that you try and send him a PM and/or email.

The tenon extends almost 100% into the neck pickup route.
The later SGs had a little extension added for extra support at the neck heel but I'm not sure when that was added.
Some modern SG have a narrower but longer tenon. There are so many variants, its hard to keep track.

Now that you have more than 5 posts, you should be able to PM. And as long as he gets email notification of his PMs, he should get the message.
