Ok Team

So its time for an update, I have both guitars 002 and 001 Sprayed and Cleared.
Next weekend I will do the final 2x Clear coats and then its a few weeks to cure.

Here are some pictures:

Anyway guys ill wrap it up there, Once I have them completed ill finish of the build with some money shots and a vid of each!

So one has been fading right - the one with the hardware ?

How long did that take for the burst to thin out like that ?

I thought you had just done it ?

And is that the maple from Peter Martin on both ?

(sorry for all the questions !)

You have done good with the burst - i really like the one fitted with the hardware.
I guess the other one will fade the same.

Looks like you have a talent for this.

Yeah your spot on mate the guitar with the hardware was in the sun for around 4-5 hours, and the other one hasnt seen the sun yet, but soon will be

.
I got all the wood from Peter Im pretty sure he gets his billets from www.curlymaplewood.com

Thanks mate.
I didn’t go with the ABR-1 because I personally can’t tell the difference in sound and Have seen lots of issues with corroded, stuck and bent ABR's, plus often they are a sloppy fit on the posts.
Just personal preference really.

So its been a while guys and I have been doing coats of clear and then letting dry.

Here are some pictures of guitar number 2 (002):

It plays realy well, and I have to say the intonation and sustain are amazing.

I wish I had half your ability in building a guitar. I have followed this thread and you have some major talent building. Nice job on get the funk out too, you play really well.

Fantastic job on the builds it inspires me to try, although I would probably start with a precision kit or something similar.

The PUPs in this guitar (002) are the StewMac Parson st the old gibson PUPs are going to go in the other guitar (001)

What Lacquer did you end up getting and what's your opinion of it.

The fading looks great - it's amazing how much it changes.

Have you tried ordering anymore wood from Peter - he told me about 8 weeks back that he's got some on the way but haven't seen any updates on his website.

I might call him again.

Had my first doodle on '002' yesterday

Has been a long time since I have picked up a LP so will take a bit of getting used to but it feels and sounds amazing - very musical and has awe inspiring sustain.

Just back plates to go then it can come home.
