Binding during refin
If you refin a Les Paul, do you mask the binding before painting or do you just paint over the binding and then scrape? Is there a preferred method?

Re: Binding during refin
I mask off the binding with a special automotive fine line tape from auto paint stores. it gives a very close edge to the wood, and it comes in 16th inch to tape around the top edge.

Re: Binding during refin
I tape it off with Fine Line tape while painting the neck.
Then, I remove the masking, mask the fretboard only and shoot my clear over the new paint and the binding to help blend it all in. Works well for me.
