Re: Your Rist:

I told him that I wanted a Tele that feels & looks like it has been played for years without the aging. I didn't want it too pretty or aged. Just make it feel like a player and surprise me. Oh, we did talk neck sizes and what I like and want for that. that was it. I didn't know until he sent me my pics when it was sanded that it was a thinline.

He called a little while down the road and said, send me your pickups. I need a Tele bridge and 2 Strats singles (middle & neck).

Then he delivered this to me:

It kills with tone and plays like buttah! Home run and this is the guitar I will play until I can't play no more one day.

Seriously, Will, I need to have you wind me some custom pickups sometime. I loved the hot-tuned 67-07s in Harpozep's R9. Maybe I'll wind up with WBs in all my stuff....

Re: Your Rist:

Dammit Will! Stop stealing my backdrop!

So... since you've played "My" Tele as well... do you think its time for me to put the rest of my guitars in long term storage in anticipation of getting that beautiful Rist~o~Tele in my hands? Other than my '69 LP, I think that the rest of them are about to be severely outclassed by the Rist.

Your Tele is sick, Will. Its quite honestly what motivated me to call Roman about having mine built

You will love your Tele! Seriously. So much so that if you don't like it. I'll take it!

It's hot, and I'm no tele guy, so that says something. I majorly dig f-holes on that kinda guitar. And front/back binding! Crazzzy!

Woohoo! When Roman told me that "this is one that I wouldn't mind having myself," I knew it'd be a good one! I think he called it a "War Pig" - stripped down bare bones and badass.

Anyways... I may have to talk to Roman about a thinline at some point as well. Roman is doing real custom work for LESS than a new Fender Reissue. Go figure. I don't think that I'll ever buy another Fender again, other than vintage stuff! I do see myself budgeting for a new Rist per year, though.

The Sandwich needs to be returned to the village to keep the tone intact.

Re: Roman Rist- Where is my sandwich?

Be careful Roman. I was watching Forenics Files and they convicted a guy by dental impressions where he bit into a piece of cheese at the crime scene. Don't get caught the same way.......take the cheese off. Don't forget to wipe the crumbs off your shirt. pop a breathe mint. All may know you did it, but proving it something else. As long as cross examination can't prove it your're safe. I mean look at O.J
