Re: MLP Bartlett Build

Looks great man! I just got the burst sprayed on mine yesterday so i'm trying to gather as much info about fading as possible. It truly is amazing how just sunlight can completely remove a color!

A quick question: do you fade it before it is fully cured? Seems like that would be why it fades so quickly but I'd just like to make sure. Thanks.

Re: MLP Bartlett Build

I agree cool video, you just can't go wrong with a Les paul and marshall combination = magical tone, although, I wonder if the head used had 6L6 tubes or el 34 tubes?

Yeah, the late great Ken Fisher only built about 100 amps of three models (express, liverpool and rockets). Clones have been built to varying degree's of success but the circuit is right on the edge of being stable and requires a lot of tweaking sometimes to even get right. Noteworthy is that Ken didn't use serial numbers, but named each amp with a girls name stamped on the chassis.
Nice sounding guitar and amp Tom.

Regards,

Don

Tom the guitar sounds phenomenal! Is that your trainwreck? Is that real or a clone?

Re: MLP Bartlett Build

hey guys! Sorry for the slow down on the build. I'm still waiting on some hardware from the UK. Should be here shortly though.
The trainwreck is a clone. Made by one of the best in the business, and sounds great! It's my favourite amp by far. The best thing about it is when you roll off the guitars volume, and let the amp do the work.

"Waiting on hardware from the UK" - what stuff do we have here in the UK that you can't get in North America/Canada? OTP Rings? Bare Knuckle and/or Shed pickups? We in Blighty should be told!

I get the OTP rings from the UK, and also I'm using fake58 tuners, and harness, which is what I'm waiting on.
