New from Geelong Australia

Hey guys. New to the forum, so just popping in to say hi. I'm 24 and I've been playing guitar for about 10 years and play in a cover band in the Geelong and Surf Coast area (Ro-Sham-Bo) and am starting an original project with a couple of the boys from the cover band

I may be selling some gear too, so be sure to check out the aussie selling thread to see if I've got anything on offer.

But anyway, I enjoy talking guitars (especially Les Pauls) so I look forward to conversing with all you fine people here on My Les Paul

Cheers

Good to have another Aussie around. I see you are a fan of the SD pickups too!! I have one of the Slash models (tobacco) and an Epi with them in it too. Enjoy the forum!

Do you happen to have a link/any info on the guys that modded your DSL?

What did you have done exactly?

Re: New from Geelong Australia

I can tell you that the mod was done by my amp tech, Alan Kelly. He is based in Geelong and has been doing that sort of stuff for decades. He builds his own amps under the name 'Almach', and they are absolutely SMOKIN'!!!!!!!
The only link I know of is his Myspace page

ALMACH AMPS on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

In terms of what was done to mine, I'm not exactly sure. I can check with him next time I see him though. But put it this way, my amp now sounds closer to a hot rodded JCM800 or Jubilee Head than a DSL.

Thanks man..... though I am severly lacking in the amp department, and think your 06 Custom Shop sig trumps my USA sig a bit. Is yours the the model with the piezo accoustic pickup or the reissue of his 87 Standard? Either one would be a nice guitar. I do like the antique vintage sunburst finish on the USA model though, and the Duncan Alnico II Pro pickups are really sweet. Pity it doesn't have the treble bleed circuit that the Goldtop came out with.
