New member, old guitar

Hello all. New to the forum. Started playing again recently after many years away. I used to plod along at at rhythm so my guitarist brother could practice, then life took over and I stopped. Then a few years back I bought a cheap little strat copy, kind of got back into playing and then I "inherited" this:

So it's time to get serious. It's a '61 Junior, bought new by my father-in-law. I know that the vibrola is an issue for some but it has been there since it left the shop and I'm leaving it. Otherwise unmolested apart from the cigarette burn on the headstock where grandpa used to tuck a Lucky behind the low E.

The original case is an interesting relic but Jr. lives in a Gibson historic case. Someday one of my daughters will get it.

Your story is kinda like mine, welcome back. You couldn't ask for a better guitar to get back in the groove with. I hope you decide to stick around but I must warn you, I started off with three or four guitars when I found this site, now they have their own room, and I've lost count.

My story is much like that too! And I'm in the process of setting up a room for all of my gear!

Welcome. My stories is much the same as yours. I hadn't played in 30 years. In February I bought my Les Paul and found MLP. I've rediscovered what a joy it is to play.
