Hi MLP!
I posted once, but never introduced myself. Possibly because I was not a Les Paul player until a few days ago. I've been playing for somewhere around a year and a half, and am enjoying it much.
I was using an Epiphone SG for a while. That's one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to any new player. Good enough to not frustrate, but affordable for a beginner. I moved to a 2002 Gibson SG Special a few months back, and thought I would stick with it for at least a year or two. (hehe) But two days ago I was browsing Craigslist and I found a Les Paul Studio for $300. There was a pretty good chunk broken out of the headstock. Though no neck repair. Not sure how someone managed to hit it that hard and not break the neck. And, the cut-away horn was also broken off. But hey... A Les Paul Studio with stock hardware and electronics for $300. I had to check it out. I went to look at it, and the thing was actually in pretty good structural shape aside from the major damage. Played it, and heard it through the guy's nice 70's (?) Marshall. It was awesome, so I bought it. So I'm now the proud owner of a fine sounding, fine playing, beat to hell Les Paul rock-n-roll machine. Woot. I'll be posting questions soon I imagine. Cheers, Jeff |

Re: Hi MLP!
Not sure if I'll get this right the first time, but here's an attempt to post pics. Difficult to get a good pic of the thing.
(It's like looking at a pet dog with a missing leg... I'm going to have to give it a prosthetic horn soon.) ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers, Jeff |

Of course, there may have been some mayhem involved. Not sure some of my favorite guitarists would have stopped in the middle of a show over that... Some of them might not have even noticed.
