Hopefull new Les Paul owner

I went to do some shopping and dinner with my wife today. We go to a new mall nearby and it happens to have a Guitar Center. We wander around in some stores and I spot the GC. She doesn't go in with me so I wander around and play some different electrics and a bunch of acoustics where she finds me after who knows how long. She is hungry so we go to dinner. While we are eating she mentions she saw a cool looking guitar when she was looking for me so after dinner we go back but it is gone. She looks at some guitars and tells me allot of them have no character so I tell her to show me some that do. She points out a couple of PRS with nice flame maple finishes then she spots a Les Paul Studio brown stained finish and says now that has character. After playing the PRS's with what seemed like thin necks this Les Paul really felt nice in my larger than average hands. I started playing the riff to Whole Lotta Love plugged into a Fender Mustang amp on 60's Brit Rock setting and it sounded like i was chanelling Jimmy Page. I noodled around some more on this guitar and then we left, but that sound stuck in my head.

We get home and she says do you want that guitar for an early birthday gift and I sat there stunned. She says she saw my face light up when I played it and if I'm going to get a new guitar it better look good too.

We are going back tomorrow to check it out some more and if all goes well I will trade my Schecter Omen on that Les Paul.

Re: Hopefull new Les Paul owner

Thanks for the welcome.

I just read my own post from last night and I see I had diarrhea of the keyboard.

Anyway keeping it simple today...

HNGD, I got the Les Paul Studio worn brown finish. I'm having fun playing it and getting the action tweaked just right for me.

Phoenix59 and Midnight Blues like this.
