Thumbs up New guy from CT

Greeting and Hello all

I'm a wee bit of a guitar nut, have had a good share of some really nice Les Pauls and Explorers over the years, even a few nice Gibson and Jackson Vs, along with some Ibanez Prestige models of late. Also found my share of crap over the years. The thing is, since there is NOTHING on the planet that sounds like a Les Paul, and one of some sort has been my go-to guitar for almost 30 years, its hard to give up on them. Recently found a very well made Vintage Mahogany Model at Guitar Center. Anyway, I'm up here in CT, more of a Met's fan then Yankees or Red Sox fan since I hate the DH, and really more of a football fan ( Go Packers!!! ) then baseball anyway. Guitars, Metal, Blues, Punk and a lot of Classical and Opera round out most of my day, along with an appreciation for old American Muscle Cars and old Smith and Wesson revolvers. Thanks in advance for all the knowledge here, hopefully I can pass some of my experience and knowledeg along to anyone looking as well. Cheers

Welcome. Now we have a C-Squared and a B-Squared. Does anyone know if we have an A-Squared?

Re: New guy from CT

Yeah, another _ Squared !

Welcome. I'm in CT too, but the Rhode Island part ( New London ).
Just sold off my Vintage Cars after thirty plus years of playing with them, Corvairs. Never much of a muscle car guy, but I do appreciate them. Will likely sell off some guitars should the right '61 Buick Lesabre Convertible come along.

Oh, like a bunch of us here and your self, I'v a couple of great Les Pauls.

Whatchya Amping with these days? I've gone way down in watts as my needs changed and the years went by. My Eight watt Carr Mercury is more than loud enough to get the cops here though

Swear by Carvin Tube Amps. I had an old 100XB that worked great for a few years then tried out one of their MTS Series about 10 years back and its been my mainstay ever since. Great amps, great pallette of tones to work with. All the gain I could ever need, and great prices.

We used to gig quite often over at the Ell 'n Gee in New London, is it still there? The only other times I head over that way is for a trip to Foxwoods or Shows at Mohegan.

ElL,N Gee is still there, but changed its name. More bands coming through again after a brief stint as a DJ club ( GAK! ).
My store is right in front of it. The huge building with the wales on it. Been downtown 18 years now serving comics and weirdness to the chosen.
You may have even been in the store?

Here's a pic:

Re: New guy from CT

hell yeah I've been there. Along with music and muscle cars, I have a thing for Batman comic Books. I know I've stopped in to take a look around a few times. I've have acquired quite a few comics over the years. I save the ones I really like, not enough room to save 'em all. The Dixon/Nolan/Hanna issues are my fav right now as well as the great stuff from Loeb and Sale. Next time I'm down that way I'll have to stop in and say hey!!!
Great pic of the store front, makes me want to Christmas shopping (for me, that is!!)
