Re: Joe Bonamassa Guitar Collection

Nice retirement fund. Exactly what I would do, if I was as succesful as Joe..

I wonder if he still has his very first guitar?

when Joe started out his dad had a guitar shop, so he used various guitars. according to him his signature is based on a 50s goldtop darkback that he had early on but his dad had to sell.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Guitar Collection

its a bit too much for me....i am a one guitar guy, always feel sorry for those not being played, with that said, when i become a musician i will have a few different ones for variation, 1 LP, 1 Semi, one p90 and so ( and backups i guess ). not 17 lps and and 3000 amps...lol.

btw, did anyone notice the resonator to the left? looks excactly like Rory Gallaghers...only less wear....."Drool"

Re: Joe Bonamassa Guitar Collection

I think he needs more... I feel bad for him, No SG's? No Firebird's? No Vox amps? What kind of British blues inspired axe slinger can you be without a least 12 or 15 AC 30s?

Also your nothing without a diamond encrusted solid gold 59 Les Paul.

Poor guy... But he is young and has lots of time to get that collection up to snuff.

Most guitar shops would be extremely happy to have a collection like that!

Re: Joe Bonamassa Guitar Collection

Somebody forgot to remove a couple of basses from the previous photo shoot. And he looks like he needs to take a leak as in 'right now'. Elvis Costello sig among the acoustics... All joking aside, I really respect the kind of player like Rory Gallagher or Peter Green, they really needed only one guitar to find their unique tone. It's in the fingers and the heart, Joe, not in the knobs and numbers.

Isn't that combo under the red amps on the left an Ac30?

Re: Joe Bonamassa Guitar Collection

That's a great photo. Did you take this Alex? If so, which magazine is it in?

I don't see the gold sparkle strat that used to be one of Joe's main guitars before he made the switch to Gibsons. Or maybe it's there and I'm just not seeing it, which is totally possible in that collection, lol.

Peter Green has a huge guitar collection too. I saw a recent youtube video in which he shows them off

I think you're right, but i'm sure that Joe has got at least one AC30 because one time Vic at plexi palace said that Joe has bought one from him (a 64 or 65 IIRC).

HAHA. Awesome. I find it funny that he owns an EBMM John Petrucci. Must be a gift from Petrucci.

No. He uses it for drop-C on Ballad of John Henry.

I'll take 31 of the guitars (my choice) all the marshalls, and those brown amps over in the right corner...

Re: Joe Bonamassa Guitar Collection

Incredible photo... I just like the visual impact of it - it doesn't really get my GAS vibe going or even my envy side. Looks to me like a lot of constant tuning and re-tubing and re-biasing in that room... Maybe I'm a simpleton - - I own 3 Lesters, 2 ESPs, a custom Hamer, and a Spanish made Classical gut string, and 3 amps. WAY MORE THAN I'LL EVER FULLY NEED OR UTILIZE It doesn't make me a better player, that's for sure

But it's an awesome photo...

Peace,
V.
