Aged 2007 R8

Took some new photos this morning with my crappy camera.

My inspiration for this was to go for the kind of "Warts and all" aging that you see on old bursts. Particularly taking inspiration from the Keith burst, Beano, Page's #1, The Green Burst, Everything at Burstserial, and a few others along the way. Anyway here it is:

Jeez, Greco, that is awesome,

Did you freezer check it? Or razor blade it?

I think the checking is outstanding.

Re: Aged 2007 R8

WOW! Very talented. Yes, I am a newbie, from the real pics Bobbo has posted , I cannot tell the difference....

Although....newbie again, I can't see why anyone would change a perfectly new L.P.

It's like putting wrinkles and false teeth on a supermodel.....just my opinion..

Yes, DMC covers, Buzzy pickguard, Fatboy VC rings, Fatboy VC switch ring, tip, knurled washer. Fatboy handmade jackplate. At the time - Buzzy inlays (now HM inlays), RS truss rod cover, RS tailpiece and RS studs. Tone pro's bridge (aged by me) "MapleFlame mod" stainless steel bridge posts. Old (70's??) USA nickel Grovers. VOS everything else with some extra aging here and there. Factory finish aged by me, checking done the Murphy way - with a blade.

Here's my thread about the new inlays: http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/hist...cement-r8.html

a little surprised to hear you yanked the Buzz inlays.I think they are great.I'm leaving my Buzz's in my R0 even though I have a spare set of HM's.

Need new knobs!!!

Also, the older pics show a more vibrant color in the top? Or is that just the light playing tricks? I like the older color...FWIW...but I think you did a great job...especially not ever having done it before!!

I'm a big fan of aged guitars and that is one of the nicest ones I've seen in a while.

Nice work!

Absolutely beautiful! If I thought I could do anything like that without totally mucking up my les, I would. I love the way the headstock looks. The edges look smoth and rolled as though theyve had fifty years of loving road play. I also love how the LP decal has worn away....

Wonderful
