Vintage Dixon Hummingbird?
Hi, this may not be the right place to ask, but I'm having a hard time finding info on this guitar...Does anybody know about the Dixon Hummingbird?...I know the history of Dixon, and that it's a Japanese copy of Gibson...does anyone know about the value and if they are good guitars? The model# 0-684, think it may be early 1960s, and appears to be in good condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks!!!! |

Re: Vintage Dixon Hummingbird?
Hi,
A friend of mine, a professional musician, has one and he adores it (and so do I). The Guitars are an "exact" copy of the Gibson Hummingbird, but made in Japan. As far as I know it was a former employee of Gibson who started his own company and copied the Gibson. The quality, looks and sound meets or even exceed the original Gibson in my opinion. I suppose it is a bit like the origionals - there are excellent ones and good ones. No 2 will be the same. I havn't a clue as to what they are worth and ones sees them very seldom in eBay and Co. regards Don
