50th Anniversary Serial Nos
Does anybody know what Serial Numbers have been used for this release?
There is supposed to be only 500 guitars made. Mine is a Heritage Cherry Burst with the Serial No: 9 9152 I have seen a Persimmon with S/N 9 98?? Are ther gaps in the number sequence? I'm guessing that maybe each colour has its own sequence range, if so does anyone know what they are? |

Everything after that is up for grabs. Gibson came out with a dozen other finishes.

Re: 50th Anniversary Serial Nos
There's "only" 500 finished in Heritage Cherry and Darburst. Realistically, Gibson will probably crank out 2,000 - 3,000 2009 R9s.
I've seen a Washed Cherry 2009 R9 and it had the typical 9912xxx serial number. Quote:
The artist models obviously get their own unique serial numbers. I recall seeing a hand-written "prototype" serial number somewhere, then the NAMM guitars had their own serial numbers. Man, I wouldn't be surprised if there were 3,000 R9s made this year. wallym, let's see a pic of yours. |

Re: 50th Anniversary Serial Nos
She plays good!!
I also have a '77(ish) Custom and a 2000 LP Classic, so the slightly thicker rounder neck profile of the R9 felt a little strange at first. I'm real happy with her. Like most of us I suppose this will be the closest we could ever come to owning a real '59. The next one on my list is a Goldtop. I've wanted a Goldtop for 'so' long but for some reason have never got round to getting one. So I'm a little jealous. |

Re: 50th Anniversary Serial Nos
Does anyone one know of, or have the numbers of R9's Gibson make in any given year? I'm just curious.
Or the other Historic models for that matter.
