I think it will be about 7500 to 10k. I don't know if they'll do a VOS and an Aged version.

finish looks good but they are gonna have a hard time finding tops that match that beauty.

One of my favorite bursts for sure.

Re: Pearly Gates- in the works!

I was really getting excited about this one, but after seeing the Bloomfield prices I have a feeling that Gibson will price this one in the stratosphere! I will most likely have to buy one after the craze dies and they come down in price.

Re: Pearly Gates- in the works!

I'd love to own one but an iced tea R9 would do just as well, and cost less, and likely sound better anyways.

That is very true. How Gibson can justify some of the prices for what is essentially the same set of guitars is beyond me

That´s very easy to answer: because there are actually people who buy them.

Re: Pearly Gates- in the works!

I love it, I want it but I don't know if I will have one because I fear it will be VERY EXPENSIVE. It could be in the JPP (the rare model) price range.

After thinking about it more, who wants to buy:
2007 R8 Historic (tricked out)
1987 Les Paul Custom (Fleetwood Mac owned and toured)
1969 SG Std. (Just like Angus played)
1959 Les Paul Jr. (all original and minty)

MAYBE I could afford one IF I sold all these?????????????

Wonder if I get a good ole' Lone Star State Discount or a Gibson employee discount voucher with zero % interest for 60 months?

Or better yet, maybe Obama will come to my emotional rescue with a Pearly bail out?

I'm just sitting here in the French Quarter of New Orleans this week, "Waiting for the Bus".

Seriously, that is one guitar I WANT.... damn it!

Honestly. Everyone complains about Gibson's pricing. But who is really at fault? You always have the option of walking away.
