Congratulations sapi; I've always loved that one! Great way to break into the historic world. And I particularly like the first picture of it without the pickguard!

Re: 'Ghostburst' - '07 R9

Thanks all! A really resonant guitar - at times when playing it feels like it's going to explode!
Just put some nice Retro Spec Accessories in it, it looks so much better - pu rings, toggle switch ring + washer and tip.
And the Virtuoso Cleaner and Polish worked wonders, i love gloss. However some parts of the top are still covered with lines in the coating presumably from the factory VOS finish. Maybe a swirl remover or similar will work, but not sure what is safe for the guitar.
When i took the tuners off for cleaning/polishing the headstock i noticed that the high E bushing was not embedded fully in its hole, it was slanted almost a quarter out so i reamed off some wood with a round file covered with fine sandpaper and all was well.
The tailpiece studs are brass not steel, i checked with a magnet. I wonder when Gibson is going to get a bit more authentic with R guitars?
