Re: New Jimmy Page Sig?

I wonder if they actually borrowed Jimmy's #2 guitar & studied it & measured the neck, etc. or if they will just go by photos, mostly copy his #1, and change some electronics / color of the uncovered pup....and darker finish. I hope they do their homework on it & make it a real nice job.

I think this will come with covered pick ups for exactly that reason.

It would be cool if they did a video like they did last time

He did play it with Zep. The reason he played #3 more and didn't play #2 much with Zep is because this one was usually a backup for #1.

Re: New Jimmy Page Sig?

If I recall correctly number 2 has a different neck to number 1.

I played a few 1996 jimmy signatures and they had a compound radius neck based on number 2 and thats why they also had the 21 switch config.

The 90's sig was just a JP influenced guitar, wasn't a direct copy of either. #2 has the same profile as #1, it was mentioned in the 1982 Guitar Heroes article where the wiring mods are mentioned for the first time. Despite the great info in that article on his guitars it's also the basis for the #1 being a '58 myth and #2 coming from Joe Walsh myth.

I guess I read more gibson Sh** then.

Anyway there was a video done of gibson digitising ECs 335 for him or a custom shop run.
Gibson should do that for the next jimmy sig does anyone agree????

Rev. ~ what do I think? Your guitar is frickin' awesome. that's what I think. How's it sound? Nice and twangy but strong, ala Page?

PS: Did they ever turn it around? Any pics?

Thanx Fus, it sounds absolutley great too me, wouldnt ever get rid of it, it will become an heirloom to my kids someday, they know what it means to me so it will be safe.

Brave, JimmyAce why is that? Are you talking about the Mods? For me its not a show piece, no guitar ever has been ever will be. Guitars were made to be played in my opinion, I have nuthing against collectors, thats just what they do, I can understand that, and thats cool, its just not me. I bought it to play it, besides I dont think they will ever be that collectable, thats what the Murphy's and the first 25 were for. Besides I would hate to die and have never played it. If you call what I do as playing.

Re: New Jimmy Page Sig?

does anyone remember the regular retail price of the custom authentic from 2004-06? i think it was $4800-5500. and that is before they started going up after they were discontinued. i am talking about the original price.

Isn't Number Two the one with an altered radius (bridge) to make single notes with a bow easier? Or is that yet another myth?
