SG/LP Std. Back from Historic Makeovers!
I got my `05 Historic `62 SG/LP Std. back from Kim & Dave yesterday. all I can say is wow!!!
It went for the "Package D". Before it was a good guitar but I knew it just needed that extra something to get it there. I have done a side by side with five original SG/LP's before and it was as good as the originals in most aspects. Now... Holy Shit.. it's a tone and sustain monster. It's thick sounding like my R-7 Custom. I do have all original `62 plastic and pots, switch, jack. Grovers and early Pat.# pickups and it has a Pigtail stoptail, studs & bushings. Well worth the wait to get it back! Here's a few photos(I have to load them one at a time...) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Beauty
Wow that's a work of art. Love your Vox amp too.

Re: SG/LP Std. Back from Historic Makeovers!
Thanks guys! I'll get some closeup's here soon. I just had Dave do the trussrod, fingerboard, frets & nut(HM Package D). The Vox is one of the limited edition African Mahogany cabinets. Mine's #109 out of 400.
I upgraded the amp with Mercury Magnetic tranny's and NOS Wima Troypfoil caps and carbon comp resistors. It sounds nearly as good as my `62 single 12" AC-15. The Bassman is a Transition model from `64 that I bought from my friend Elliot Easton. It's exactly the same as George Harrison's except George's is 955 serial #'s after mine. |
