NGD: '07 R8 Plain Top Lemonburst
Bought my first R8 and it's a lemon.
 I bought it used without pickups because I didn't care for the set already it in, and it was cheaper that way. I had a set of 57 classic/57 plus lying around so I slapped them in and first thing I jammed on it was Sammy Hagar's, Heavy Metal. It was badass! Why that song I don't know, it just felt right.  I might change the pickups, but not sure yet, I'm just enjoying the guitar for now.I hit the board with some fret doctor to darken it up. It had a light streak running down the entire right side and I like things uniform. I love it! It has really got me wanting an R9 now... damn you Gibson!  Anyways enjoy some lemonade! Beautiful! Love the color, nice plain top! If it plays half as good as it looks then fantastic. Nice dark fretboard too (my personal preference!)

A very good thing you bought!
I also wanted an R8 Lemonburst, but the neck didn't fit me somehow. Anyways, I'm happy with my R0 VOS now.

Just put some Twangbranes and MojoTone CTS 500k pots and Sprague NOS Vitamin Q .015 and .022 caps in her. The Twangbranes sound really good. Nice treble bit and the neck is very smooth sounding. Definitely some versatile pickups, even good for my playing style, hard rock and metal! Here's some pics:
   And some challenger love:  Yeah I know the wheels need cleaning, no need to tell me! And no there's no road rash, just road grime on them.
