Current Value for Pearly Gates Burst?
I'm curious as to how much one would pay for a low serial number Pearly Gates. I see one on EBAY for $8K, and nobody is bidding, does anybody know the seller?
As of right now I'm very fortunate to have a killer replica built for me by Bill Fischer, loaded with OTPG PAFS, original bumble caps, jonesy 50's wiring, and top o line aged nickel hardware. But...I have a set of Stephens Design VL 61 PAFS HD on order, and would like to have a second burst. I like replicas, and the work Dave Johnson does. Am I better off getting a Killer price for a Pearly, if so, what is a great price for one? Or should I get a 2012, and strip it, and replace the two piece board with Brazilian? I've got a few, then re-shoot it 100% nitro? Thanks, Peach |

These "or should I do this..." threads are a bit
![]() Decide what you want (on your own) and then go buy it.

Re: Current Value for Pearly Gates Burst?
If I can get a Pearly Gates at the right price, I would do it. But what is holding value these days? Last time I checked ebay, 5 mins ago, nothing was moving. I don't see that Bloomfield moving anytime too soon either.
$8500 for a Pearly Gates, no bidders. $2000 for a set of orig PAFS, no bidders $5000 for 2012 `59's, no bidders motorcycles...done boats...don't make me laugh go go bars....done too! nobody is buying anything unless it's given away? So what is a realistic value for a Pearly Gates burst? |

Agreed - just an R9 with a name (that is to me). If you hold it in higher standard, buy it and enjoy!

Somewhat of an odd looking top on the ebay Gibbons. I just had one and sold it in a few hours for 8K with 5 other people in line for it if the first guy passed.

Exactly what i thought too...the flame on that top on the Ebay advert does look a bit odd...which is probably why it hasn't sold yet...but it will.

Re: Current Value for Pearly Gates Burst?
That's my thoughts on pearly also. What attracted me was the top and the color. If I could find an R9 or R8 with a great top I'd just send it to HM for a deluxe package. You'd still come in $1000 to $2000 under pearly's price tag. That's probably what I will do eventually. Good luck with your decision.
