Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!

Ok we've all been talking about them on the boards.

The monster, long tenon, 1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom Reissue!
Over the months I've read here that some have Burstbuckers and some have 57 Classics (and of course what you may have swaped out). One thing everyone seems to agree on is that the 1968 RI is one of the best axes Gibson has put out in a long time!

Seems to me there are two kinds of 68' RI people... those who already have a 68' RI, and those who are going to get a 68' RI!

Ok let's see them!

I know there are quiet a few 68' RI owners out there!

Here's my "Honey"...

Umm yeah... maybe Amanda should take your temperature when she gets home!

EDIT: because now I see that Boles was only trying to decide which of the 87,000 pictures he has of his 1968 RI's to post up!

Yeah it's going around, whatever "it" is?

Maybe the government is releasing some type of toxin into the air to make us all sick so we wont RISE UP!

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!

You've opened a huge can of worms with this one Hemply. You know how Bole is like the 68 RI King here....he would eat, sleep, and drink those if he could (I even think he'd kick me out of bed to have them all next to him).

I will admit I hesitated breifly before actually posting the thread... I didn't want to send poor Boles into a tailspin!

Then I said "F" it and posted the thread anyway!

I'm the same way really... I named my 68 RI "Honey" so my girlfriend wouldn't know I was talking to my guitar when I said "I love You"!

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!

I'm seeing some FINE guitars here gentlemen!

I'm starring at mine as I type this, been laying the mojo on the Lowden all day today and probably the rest of the weekend too!

LP: that has to be the cleanest axe I have ever seen! Are you using Virtuoso polish? Gorgeous!

Long Beach: I like both the gold and the chrome hardware especially on the Black Beauties either is good for me! I think a White 68' RI with the VOS Nickle hardware would look killer!!!!

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!

BTW

ptgold: the difference in your Triburst and Boles Triburst is noticeable. I love how they're individual but still have that same killer Triburst look to them!

Both of Bole's Tribursts are different too. That new one is some monster that fell out of the sky!

The '81 just got new frets and a bone nut with some
.11-.53's, tuned a full step down drop C.

It's sooooo F'n wicked.
