Yes, it came with keystone Grovers and speed knobs. ![]() ![]() ![]() It took me months to find it. I've been '68 crazy for a while, but I'm doing just fine now. Thanks!

I got it in my hands right now
![]() In the unfortunate event of my untimely passing, it is my final wish that LongBeach will inherit my 1981 Gibson Custom if he thinks he's man enough to handle it.

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!
Here is a 04 Cherry burst that I bought on ebay for $2,600 shipped. It was really a bright looking guitar. The weird thing is that it weighed 9.0 lbs even! That is super light for a custom. The other thing is the neck was HUGE on this guitar .... a little bit too big for me.
![]() This is another that I currently own, it's a 02 68 reissue authentic Custom. I changed the nickel hardware out for relic'd gold and added the witch hat knobs to make it look like the one and only original 68 did! The neck isn't as fat as the above cherryburst, but this one weighs more ( 10.2 lbs ). These are GREAT guitars !!! ![]() ![]() ... and finally the Couch of Doom ! ![]()

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!
My white one has the most freakishly huge neck I've ever played. A good bit bigger than my R8 or any other R I've played for that matter. I love it, but I can understand why some folks wouldn't.
Some of them just come out that way.Welcome! |

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!
68Custom, I love the old-school top hats on that ebony, but da gold has gotta go, 68 ebony's = dull nickel - IMO
bad-ass axe bro, either way! |

Thanks. ![]() In 1968, the Custom only came one way, black body with gold hardware.... there was no nickel hardware option offered..... and of course the witchhat knobs. Since Gibson called this the 68 'Authentic' and didn't get it right, I was just trying to help!

But I agree that there are only a few things about 1968 reissues that are accurate: the logo on the head, the bridge is not exact but it is today's version, and the long tenon. It is easier to name the things they got right than to list all the things they did wrong: frets neck profile tuners tail piece pickups knobs Just to name a few! |
