Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!

My two favorite guitars ever. I've been playing Les Pauls since I was a wee lad, and these two are better than any of the hundreds of others that I've played. They are better than R8s, R9s, etc... IMHO, of course.

They started humping each other. I tried to stop it!

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!

Brother man, it's so eligant, classic white with gold hardware.
IMO - put reflector's on it, and your 100%. That's one of the 2 things I
really love on my 68, Kidney's and refector tops.

Original or not, I dont care what shop your in, when you see those 2 combo's on a Custom, you know exactly what it is. 68 am I wrong?

I like the reflectors too, but I think I'll leave the Randy look alone on the white one.

By the way, it's 2008. I guess I'll consider them 40th anniversary '68s. Maybe it slipped Gibson's mind. They probably don't care.

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!

I'm tryin to upload a pic,not that it matters, they all look the same
It has the grover kidney's and the fattest neck I have ever seen on a guitar including the Jeff Beck strat. It is strangely comfortable though. Also has the old style CS decal on back of headstock.

I bought second hand and never got the fancy COA book and the case doesn't look original. Had been trying to sell her for 25-2600 Canadian but everytime I pick her up I realize its one of the best L.P's available. The only drawback playing these things is I am constantly scared of scraching it.

That's a beautiful color! IMO, they ARE the best Les Pauls Gibby makes! Don't ever get rid of it.

Ha! I thought they quit makin these. Apparently the reproduce on their own. Seriously though, does anyone have a estimate of how many have been made so far?.

I dunno how many have been made, but they do still make them. They're very limited runs per year. Black with nickel hardware is the most common(LongBeach is giving me his.. ), The bursty figured top models are next, and Classic White is the rarest.

There's a Guitar Center exclusive with a thin '60s neck. There are usually one or two of those in every GC.

No, he said he "thought it was too ugly to be next to the beautiful ones." I will not allow him to trade or sell any of the Gibsons (or anything else for that matter).

I'm kind of untraditional though. Both my parents were into rock & roll...so I've always been around it.

Re: Let's see those 1968 Reissues!!

That explains it. My girlfriend's folks are pretty conventional, church-going people. But, I guess there's hope for them considering the let a low-life such as myself into their house.

They don't have to like you though. My grandparents don't care too much for Bole. But they're the more traditional ones...they didn't like my dad either (mom's parents).
