Feedback to this CC#2 Goldie Top
Hi Guys,
it's again me. I have a Goldie on hold and would appreciate your Feedback on this Top. If you don't like it and know other Goldies for sales with a better top, please let me know (Europe preffered). Regarding my last question Kossoff vs. Pearly...today I have received Pearly but I have also ordered the Kossoff to do a side by side testing (will keep the better or maybe both?! - depending on the CC Goldie Decision). In terms of pics - will post some in the next days. Best Regards ![]() ![]()

Re: Feedback to this CC#2 Goldie Top
i like the top better than the Koss ones.
(i mean, i'd be happy with any of them, but if we're being technical )it looks a fair bit like the flame on the Bloomfields.

Re: Feedback to this CC#2 Goldie Top
just looked at your Koss thread, you got one of the nicer tops there! a lot of them look a bit too BBQ for my tastes, but yours is cherry

Re: Feedback to this CC#2 Goldie Top
bright and nice flame pattern imho. I guarantee you the pics won't do it justice, go see it in person if you haven't or are able to! With these things pretty much ending their production run, this is your chance! I'd get it. I have an awesome looking and sounding R8 and an excellent playing R9, but my Goldie trumps them both. It's quite singlehandedly the best les paul I've ever played. I was leery about the pics of mine on the site which I got it from, but when I got it in person, any misgivings I may have had about top quality were gone.

Re: Feedback to this CC#2 Goldie Top
Those aren't the best pictures, but that top looks really nice to me! You say you have it "on hold", have you had a chance to play it? With that top if it plays great it's a no brainer! Good luck...

Unfortunately not because it is not in my home country and too far away to drive by car. I have heard only good thinks about the tone and quality. Some say this guitar is the best Gibson LP (excl. Vintage) they have ever played. Therefore I have to make the rest of the decision depending on the look of the top. |

Re: Feedback to this CC#2 Goldie Top
[QUOTE=friendofgibson;3837263]
I have read that the neck is bigger then from other Reissues - is that true? It's exactly based on the 50+ years of wear on the original so it's thinner than a standard 59 re-issue neck by quite some margin, but not as thin as a 60's neck. Best neck feel I've known on a Les Paul, but then I'm a sucker for the standard 59 neck (which I've got on my ES-137 Custom). Appreciate why you asked about the top, but these Goldies are on the right side of the supply/demand curve so they'll keep their value if you decided to sell it.

Very authentic to an original burst. Beautiful! I would jump on it if the price is right. Congratulations!
