Sounds fantastic! Of course, it's Gregor Hilden....he sounds incredible regardless of what he has in his hands.

I wonder what the pickups are as well. No way those are Gibson pickups.

For that sound I'm thinking in direction of some Throbaks pickups, but can't be sure..

Re: Gregor Hilden plays Historic Makeovers Package-A 1959 Reissue

You are confusing the guitar from the video above with the guitar that he's currently selling on his site. The first sold last year and it was a R9 and sold for something like 12K (EUR) if I'm not mistaken... the current one is a R0, and has indeed duncans in it. But the guitar from the video above DOESN'T have duncans.

The current one is still listed on Mark's site... the pics come from there as well (and no, I'm neither his agent, nor in any way affiliated to mr. Greg )

Not sure what *you* you mean, but anyway; if I understand it right, you are saying that you have information about the pickups NOT being Duncans.... so what info do you have about what pups are in the 2003 HM R9..?

I mean that the guitar that you posted from the video is a R9 which Greg sold last year and is NOT the same guitar which he is selling at the moment and which is on hold, it is a R0 and has duncans in it.

The R9 didn't have duncans but some other pickups as far as I can remeber. But for precise information I'm sure you can ask mr Hilden himself

Now I see the video you posted doesn't come from his channel, I think this is the same guitar here:

Stonedmoses confused this R9 with the R0 currently on sale, that's where the confusion came from....

the current guitar:

2007 / 2012 Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul Standard Flametop Historic Collection, Dave Johnson Makeover. For this makeover project, restauration guru Dave Johnson selected this former 1960 Historic for its spectacular flame top, light weight (3,85 kgs), fantastic 60s neck profile (not shallow, not chunky, just perfect!), and outstanding sound. The guitar was completely refinished with an authentic nitro finish and then aged. It was equipped with a set of hand-wound one-off Seymour Duncan pickups custom made for this particular guitar that sound just amazing. Also, Area 59 pickup rings, an aged brown switch tip, aged knobs, and a handmade aged pickguard were installed. The rest of the hardware (bridge, tailpiece etc.) is original and was aged by Dave Johnson. The result is a dream which will put your quest for the perfect Les Paul to an end! BTW, Joe Bonamassa recently recieved his personal Johnson Makeover Goldtop with Area 59 parts (see Video) - the waiting period currently is about 10 - 14 months! Also, at your request, I could install a set of ORIGINAL 1961 Gibson PAF humbuckers - total price (guitar & PAFs) € 13,790 incl. 19% turnover tax! Price: € 8,790 (incl. 19%) - comes with original case, Gibson certificate and paperworks, Dave Johnson Historic Makeover Certificate. Fotos1 Fotos2Fotos3 Fotos4

It clearly says 1960 reissue. NOT 1959 reissue

Gregor Hilden is a fine guitar player, but a lot of his "tone" come from his overdrive unit . It makes most of his guitars sound the same . The price for that R0 in the USA is ....Well a bit much . still ,very nice guitar .
