Re: My 50th Anniv Murphy getting a make over
I bet that your relicing days are now over huh? After seeing the results, I'd say you did good.

Re: My 50th Anniv Murphy getting a make over
"vintage correct top carve" - as far as I know the original bursts were more flat on the top, is that what Kim did here as well, just flatten the top out?
grovers: In my opinion they improve the resonance as well... I'm really happy with them so far

Re: My 50th Anniv Murphy getting a make over
went with "heavy" relicing which will not be for everyone

Re: My 50th Anniv Murphy getting a make over
I wonder how Kim relics those cases... keep them in the rain for a few days then leave them in the sun for another few weeks....

Re: My 50th Anniv Murphy getting a make over
That's real sweet! My R8 is over there, I don't want that much relicing, but yours looks very cool!
Love it!

Re: My 50th Anniv Murphy getting a make over
Yes, go with Throbaks they are the best covers IMHO I have them on two historics so far! In fact the R8 over at HM has them. (or will be completed with)

Re: My 50th Anniv Murphy getting a make over
That looks pretty damn good actually. love the finish, much better than gibson one especially since you destroyed it.
i would go with an aged nickel cover in the neck and double creme in the bridge. pagey vibe |
