Pick your favorite Artist models
Which of the artist/signature models listed below is the most desireable to you? Even if you do not own one, which would you want if you could own one. Some points to consider are looks, playability, investment potential, quality, accuracy (how well it compares to the real deal). Of the follwing models consider only the Murphy aged/ or VOS versions - not the actual artist signed/played versions which are out of reach to most people.
So all things considered which one is the best in your opinion? Thanks!

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
That's cool. They only let me do 10 options. There are many I left out for sure. I encourage people to list their favorite one if it is not one of the options...

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
Jimmy Page #1.This is the guitar I kept of all I had and it delivers the goods each and anytime!
On the other hand I remember that killer Rossington you had...I'd buy it in a heartbeat if there weren't other priorities... |

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
I've only played three on the list. The first was the Bloomfield. The one I played was outstanding. The next was Pearly Gates(unsigned) and it was equally impressive. I wanted desperately to buy it, but it was $8100.00 and I would have had to trade in a big chunk of my six string crew to get it. The last one I played was the Jeff Beck Oxblood (0XX/100). I got it used(slightly) for 3K less than Pearly. I liked it as much as I liked the Pearly. In fact, I'd say it was a better sounding guitar than the Pearly Gates I tried.

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
The Duane Allman would be what I'd want, followed closely by a Peter Green/Gary Moore burst...
I've never played either one and quite honestly, I'd probably have to sell all of the guitars I have to afford a Duane Allman burst, which too me, is silly. If money was no object, then sure, why not get a couple of each!

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
So did I. And I usually reject the idea of an artist's sig model, for various reasons, except that I actually got to play a Bloomfield burst in a shop in a kind of blind test---I saw the guitar on a wall, liked its look, got curious about how she played, and took her down and plugged her into a Fender amp such as I happen to use. I had no idea it was a Bloomfield---I didn't pay any attention to the cosmetics that would have given it away---but this guitar played like butter on a muffin and cried the blues in my hands. Only when I returned it to the wall did I realise what I'd just played!
Not on the list is the only other sig model I'd consent to own and play---because I saw a great video of Lou Pallo himself demonstrating his sig model, running a full gamut of the tone possibilities you could get with the instrument, and I heard clearly enough where I could get my own tone with that guitar without having to tweak a thing or do anything different than I do now. So my number eleven would be the Lou Pallo model . . .

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
It's too hard to chose as they'd all be great guitars. The fan in me would chose the Page and Moore guitars, for looks it would be Pearly or the Felder (despite the Nashville bridge).
Though I haven't played any of these models, there has been nothing but the utmost praise for how the Bolomfields sound, and the Felders have had some great reviews too. If forced to choose and if I could get on with the small neck, then I'd go for the Page number 2. If not then probably the Bloomfield. Or maybe the Pearly, or the Felder...............aaaghhhhhhhhh it's all too hard!

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
Hey Slither...........I always laugh when I read your Avatar notes re the Shire & God's Country.
Please tell me you are not one of these people that get lost when they go over the Captain Cook Bridge heading North. I live in Melbourne but still own a house in Burraneer Bay Road & have heaps of close friends in the area. Some of them say "why go anywhere else if I have the best of everything in the Shire"............to which I respond................"how would you know if you never go anywhere else"........... ![]()

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
Page #1
![]() Unfortunately, Youtube continues to go through my list of videos and is blocking more and more of them, only stating that they have content belonging to Warner Chapell. No proof. I don't know if Warner owns the song itself or the backing track that I freely downloaded from the internet. Sometimes I played over the original recording, sometimes used a backing track. And I am not doing it for profit. But they are blocking my USA audience on the best ones. What is even more weird is sometimes I play the same song with the same backing track on a different guitar but it doesn't get blocked. I have filed disputes, but none of them seem to make any difference. 4.jpg

Re: Pick your favorite Artist models
I seriously doubt any of those votes for Page #1 / #2 really have to do with #2. Most are probably for #1.
