Re: Purple edge?? really?? from the Custom Shop???
Purple is my favorite color, but it just doesn't go with the rest of the colors on that L.P.
I even have a purple Strat. but I will stick to standard burst colors on my L.P.s

Re: Purple edge?? really?? from the Custom Shop???
It's interesting I must say. I think that purple would fade into something like a tobacco burst.

That gold looks bad, but once it yellows? Might look a lot better. The purple, I kinda like. I'd have to see it in person, though

'Zactly. Or goldtop, for that matter -- especially after it's started greening. That shit's ugly.

Re: Purple edge?? really?? from the Custom Shop???
That Purple really bites (imo) but It might be a great price for a guitar thats ready to go to HM . The top and the back have nice figure on it and with a good paint job, it might turn out to be a great guitar.

Re: Purple edge?? really?? from the Custom Shop???
i think it looks awesome.
i'd never own it, but it looks a lot better than the way too overdone bursts we see day in and day out. and by overdone, i mean cherry sunburst specifically. i realize a lot of people disagree with me on this. that's cool, i'm glad we don't all agree. it makes for a better world imo. |

Re: Purple edge?? really?? from the Custom Shop???
I think it could've been much worse. If the top was good and it was a player I would buy one.
What does "wide, custom-style" tenon mean? Is that a 50/50 job? "Well, it's just as wide, but not as long as a Historic...." I would buy a yellowed, ambered gecko burst too. But I am a strange duck......

Limited run my ass, they mixed the color wrong, and just sprayed a bunch of LP's untill they ran out of that color, didn't they?

Re: Purple edge?? really?? from the Custom Shop???
I wouldn't say that. I remember eating an Italian ices combination once that had the same colour and I thought it looked as nice as it tasted. You could do a lot worse than come up with what you might call this ice cream burst . . . come to think of it, with the aforementioned and shown latte burst, somebody did . . . (though I'm not crazy about lemonburst, either . . . )

Re: Purple edge?? really?? from the Custom Shop???
...ask why? Good question.
Someone's going to love it and buy it. OP's trying to pre-trash it. Motive? Suspected, but unknown.

At least they used a respectable shade of purple,,it could have been some kind of chiffon bright ass village people purple. It really doesn`t look to bad.
