Double Creamin' the R8
I have been thinking about double creamin' the R8 (Heather). I would like to have that kind of pickup look, and add a bone nut to her as well.

If you don't feel like taking off her top, start with her bottom! That's what I did. Never looked back.

Re: Double Creamin' the R8
I love the double creams. i think my R8 looks much better with her cream WCRs.
![]() My R9 had a set of DW Zhangbuckers, but now has covered cream Throbaks. Here she is 5 days after my son was born. ![]()

Re: Double Creamin' the R8
Well folks - my double creams came in, and I put them in the case with my R8. I will be dropping them off with my guitar guy after work tomorrow afternoon. Gonna have them installed, neck cleaned up a bit, and a bone nut put in. I wiill also be replacing my gold hatknobs for the darker amber ones to look mor vintage. I am excited of what 'Heather' will play like. 'Miss Amy' is next to go in for a basic checkup and a bone nut.

Re: Double Creamin' the R8
That does look pretty awesome. Pickguard would work with that even better imo.

Re: Double Creamin' the R8
Ah crap, every time I see someone else changing their historic pickups out I consider mine again.. I still have my originals in my R8, but my Traditional has DCs.. I'm pretty sure I'll end up with the DCs in my R8.. I never have cared for the covered pickups and was trying to keep the R8 original but do not think that will last very long.
