Anybody know where to get longer nickel covered brass screws for ABR posts?

I recently did the Mapleflame mod on my R9 with some stainless 6-32 screws. While I liked being able to have them go deeper into the body it seemed to make this particular R9 just too bright. So I was thinking of trying to find some nickel plated brass screws to make deeper posts.

I found one seller on Amazon and ordered it but eventhough it says it's #6-32, the rod seems to be a larger diameter as the posts screws won't thread.
Amazon.com: Nickel Plated Brass C360 Threaded Rod, #6-32, 24" Overall Length (Pack of 1): Industrial & Scientific Amazon.com: Nickel Plated Brass C360 Threaded Rod, #6-32, 24" Overall Length (Pack of 1): Industrial & Scientific

Anyways, just wondering if anybody here has any experience with this

I have done the same to a half dozen guitars and would like to see what you find out
I've done stainless screws and I leave the heads on so that sucker is locked to the thumbwheel under the ABR.

Very strange. Maybe they sent you 8-32 by mistake. I mean 6-32 is 6-32 is 6-32 AFAIK. The standard diameter only varies by .0008". Don't know how it could be different from 6-32 SS screws.

I wouldn't tough the length to be honest! I'd only consider changing metal types.
One you should always pre-drill a pilot hole before going deeper into the guitar to avoid splitting the wood, and
two drilling into the already threaded hole (threaded from the first rod) can mess the wood threads and make the hole sloppier.

The holes are already drilled deeper, so it's just a matter of finding some longer screws. Like I said in the original post I did try stainless and it was too bright in this particular guitar
