Hi All,

I don't post much on here, but have been around for a while... Thought you might enjoy some pics of my new (and first!) pre-VOS R8 in washed cherry...

Who says the finish on an R8 can't compare with that of an R9?!

That's beautiful. The shallow neck angle was the first thing I noticed too. Very nice color too.

No. It's a Historic. Pre-Historics were prior to 1993.

Pre-VOS, but made in 2005 so as far as I'm aware it's a historic....

That's one of the nicest colors I've seen period. Question, should the tailpiece on a Les Paul be clamped all the way down like that? I see them different ways. Thanks!

It all depends on your action and overall setup. You usually want it about as low as you can get it without the strings touching the back of the bridge. I can't really see the back of the bridge too well in the pictures, but it doesn't look like any strings are touching.

Heh, to be honest, I don't tend to name my guitars! Not sure why, I know it's considered standard practice, but I've never felt quite right with it! Wierd, huh?

Absolutely beautiful. I know "to each their own" and all but I just don't get the VOS. Not when you can get one with a finish like that.

I love the color --- the pics seem to make it look more iced tea than cherry. Wondering if it's already done some nice fading over the three years since it came out of the factory.
