Help with Bigsby Choices
I have been getting the jones lately to put a Bigsby on one of my Gibsons. I have both a(n) Historic '59 335 and a R8 LP.. both excellent guitars, both light enough to handle the extra weight without penalty.
I plan on using the Vibramate mounting system, so completely reversible in either case, but they do not use the same hardware (so I can't experiment between the two without spending 2X $) which means I have to pick one... Give me your thoughts.. |

Re: Help with Bigsby Choices
I've got one on both but I've never compared it to be honest, I'd say it should be the same though otherwise they'd market different ones for 335's and LPs...I'll check when I get home.

Re: Help with Bigsby Choices
Well, my Gretsch is 'Bigsby armed', but in truth, I never utilise it. As such, tuning stability is usually fine, even with some moderate noodling, and even with the floating bridge. However, when it does get knocked it can whack the tuning out somewhat. I wouldn't have it as first choice for any serious wigglin'. Sure looks pretty tho!
