NGD...'aged' Gary Moore #112
My 'aged' Gary Moore arrived on Friday...i bought it from Guitar Village in the UK...it is gorgeous...it is even better than i expected it to be.
I took it over to my mates' house and plugged it into his Marshall Class 5...and the guitar sounds wonderful...and the 'out of phase' middle position sounds great but will need plenty of experimenting with...my 1st tune on it was 'Parisienne Walkways'...i havn't been able to play it at home plugged into my Mesa TransAtlantic with 2x12 Rectifier cab yet, but i will be hopefully tomorrow. The guitar weighs a comfy 8.9 lbs...the colour and flame look awesome...we took some photos in my mates' workshop with lots of ceiling lighting and it shows the colour up nicely without using any flash...at my house with my shite camera with flash the guitar looks more orange coloured in photos...but here are a few pics taken in the workshop and a couple at my home. |

Try setting them both to 8, crank up the amp (preferably a Fender) and add a bit or reverb, then jam along to 'Love That Burns'.

My best friend Lapin also have a Collector Choice (VOS). Factory retarbucker and PG Blues are just incomparable.
Neck factory pickup is just a 4 conductors

Re: NGD...'aged' Gary Moore #112
Thanks for all the kind words guys...i still havn't been able to play the guitar through my Mesa yet...i was playing it acoustically last night because the wife and kids were asleep...i was still having lots of fun though!
Here are a few more photos...you will see that one of the photos shows the guitar top looking a darker shade...you do need some good bright light on the guitar to show all the buttery/lemony hues in the top. |

Joff, congrats! It looks much better than the pics you showed me, maybe you should take some pics with sunlight, the color will be more close to the GM/PG's burst.

Re: NGD...'aged' Gary Moore #112
Rather than start a new thread, I thought my newly acquired GM aged should sit here as it also came from Guitar Village in the UK this week. Someone had previoulsy bought it and then had to sell it back.
Behold the GM Number 58. When I first played one of these a while back I wasn't immediately taken with it, but I think it is absolutely gorgeous looking, like an old dog who's been in a few too many fights but still has a glint in its eye. It's really nicely set up, plays so well, and each of the pick up configs gve really different sounds, it's like 3 different guitars. Just smitten I have to say. (And this is despite having got my Beano Aged in the same week...I'll post an NGD thread for that one -which is special by the way), but for tone and playability I think the GM pips it!

Britpack...congrats on #058...i saw #058 on the Guitar Village website before they sent me mine...it looks lovely!
Well...i have dispatched my kids to their grandparents this weekend and so i have finally had a chance to plug my Gary Moore into my little Mesa rig and play it loud!!!...and i have to say that it is a superb guitar...it sounds wonderful...the neck feels real comfy to play...the guitar ouzes character...and i am delighted with it.

Re: NGD...'aged' Gary Moore #112
Were those pics (the last set posted) taken at the guitar shop or is that your place? If that's your place then you have some awesome axes!
