Help needed with value of R8
Hi guys, I am a first timer here and could really do with some help on the value of a 2002 R8 finished in faded Sun burst with PAFS. The guitar is claimed to be one of the last flametops produced in the range as is superb condition with original case and case candy. The guitar is with a local guitar dealer at £3195 GBP. Stunning guitar but is it too expensive??

Re: Help needed with value of R8
I got my new 2008 R8 VOS (Plaintop) in August for £2109, they were asking £2799, MRSP £2999.
They're now going for £2200 new (Plaintop VOS) I saw recently. I'm sure you could save at least £500 on a second hand 'Flame' R8. Maybe check the 'Members Classifieds' forum on this site or regularly watch ebay. Marks Guitars Loft gets plenty of excellent reviews in the States with all the lookers too!! Worth a look! |

Re: Help needed with value of R8
2001-2 flamed R8s are going for upwards of $2800-3000 across the pond (USA) these days on ebay.
Whatever that translates to pounds is what is the going rate for these. If it's an especially nice one, from what I think I know of conversion rates, that doesn't seem that crazy. But I would definitely offer less and negotiate. Pix?

Re: Help needed with value of R8
I bought a similar (and mint) 2001 flamed R9 at the top of the market in 2007 for £1950. It does seem a bit steep. It's a £2K guitar in my book.
